Woman raped in Haripur
HARIPUR: A woman was allegedly raped by a man in the jurisdiction of Kotnajibullah Police Station, police said on Wednesday.
The accused was arrested and handed over to the police for two-day physical remand.
According to the cops of the Kotnajibullah Police Station, S Bibi of Mohallah Muqadaman Kotnajibullah village has
been living alone at her parents’ home after getting a divorce from her husband.
She was at home and busy in cooking food when one Muhammad Sajid, a resident of sector No 1 Kangra Colony, forcibly entered her home, dragged her in one of the rooms and raped her at gunpoint.
She told the police that the accused fled the scene after hurling serious threat if she ever disclosed the incident to someone.
On the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case against the accused under section 376, 452 and 506 of the PPC.
According to police and the hospital sources, the preliminary medical examination of the victim confirmed that she had been raped.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the accused and obtained his two-day physical remand from the court of a judicial magistrate.
