GUJRANWALA: Dacoits looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables in eight incidents here on Saturday.
Four dacoits entered the house of Arif at Kot Ladha and decamped with Rs 32,000, gold ornaments and other valuables. Two dacoits intercepted Rauf and his sister and snatched Rs 20,000, gold ornaments and mobile phones. Two dacoits deprived Sikandar of Rs 10,000 and two mobile phones at Baghbanpura. Two bandits looted cash and two mobile phones from Rafiq while a new bike of Rashid Ansari was stolen from Satellite Town Market. Unknown thieves took away a motorcycle of Maskeen from Nowshera Road and a motorcycle of Muzammil from Khiali. Thieves lifted the bike of Shams from Wazirabad Railway Station.
ARREST WARRANTS: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday issued arrest warrants for seven witnesses in a case.
The court issued warrants for Ghulam Mustafa, Idrees, Usman, Akhtar Mehmood, Rafaqat Ali, Muhammad Arshad and Sanaullah for not attending the court and ordered the police to produce them before the court on Sep 5. Earlier, Aurangzeb Farooqi, president of a banned outfit, was produced before the court in the case.
COMMITS SUICIDE: A girl committed suicide at Wazirabad on Saturday.
Maria ended her life by taking acid over a domestic dispute.
HEARING ADJOURNED: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Imtiaz Ahmad on Saturday adjourned the Daska incident hearing till Sep 2. The court adjourned the hearing due to strike of lawyers.
