Murdered woman identified

The woman who was found murdered in bushes in the Azizabad area on Thursday has been identified on Friday. According to police, the woman has been identified as 30-year-old Perveen, daughter of Hidayatullah, who was unmarried and resided in a Liaquatabad locality.

Police said the woman used to work at a local factory and had gone missing since she left the home for work on the morning of December 31. Her body was found in bushes near a railway crossing in Sharifabad within the limits of the Azizabad police station.

The body was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital where doctors confirmed several marks of torture on the body. The body was later moved to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for want of identification. She was identified with the help of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee’s Shanakht project.
