Institutions in state of clash due to govt’s inability: Siraj
ISLAMABAD: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Senator Sirajul Haq has said the government's inability has landed the national institutions into an embarrassing situation.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House on Thursday, he added the national institutions were in a state of clash which created unrest among the masses who were already burdened with massive inflation and unemployment.
Senator Siraj said a common man was unable to make his both ends meet in prevailing circumstances. He said ill-planned and IMF dictated economic policies made the people life miserable. As around seven million people went below the poverty line in 2019, the JI Ameer expressed the fear that economy would further suffer in 2020, resulting in increasing poverty, inflation and unemployment. Expressing concern over the plight of farmers, he said there were complaints that owners of different sugar mills were either not purchasing sugarcane from growers or acquiring it on cheap rates. He called for addressing the problems facing the farmer community.
Meanwhile, JI Shoora in a three-day session passed a resolution expressing concern over the rising problems of the people due to worsening state of the economy.
The JI top decision making-body held the government responsible for making the life of common man miserable and called for addressing the issue on urgent basis. It said the government not only badly failed to fix the fragile economy of the country after coming into power in August 2018, it further worsen the situation.
The resolution stated the thousands lost the jobs and inflation went record high due to flawed economic policies. It said the IMF had virtually taken over the state affairs, enslaving the millions of Pakistanis to the lending agency. The government was asked to introduce interest-free economy if it really wanted to put the country on the path of development.
It said only a dedicated and honest leadership could bring the country out of prevailing crisis. The JI vowed to introduce reforms and bring prosperity in the country.
