WB, state of Madina two diverse paths, says Siraj
KARACHI: We would support the government if it establishes the country on the pattern of the state of Madina but its direction is towards the World Bank (WB), Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said. Addressing ‘Engaging and Training’ sessions at JI district east and west separately on Wednesday, he said government’s stance on Kashmir looks uncertain and it is following the policy of General Douglas Gracey and of our first Foreign Minister, Sir Zafarullah. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami has been consistently raising the voice for the Kashmir issue but the rulers have remained unmoved and it appears they have accepted the Indian occupation of Kashmir. There is no difference between the past and present rulers as both are tilted towards the WB and are afraid of the US, he added. We need to see the preeminence of Islam and Quran in our education, judicial and governing systems contrary to the western system of education, the JI Amir remarked. Siraj said the supremacy of rule of law is the imperative need of the country and the common man is not concerned whether General (retd) Musharraf is punished or not. The poor are worried over the economic conditions and the unjust distribution of resources but the rulers are lest bothered by these issues, he added. Naib Ameer JI Pakistan, Dr Mairajul Huda, JI Sindh Ameer, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and Karachi Ameer JI, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also addressed the gathering.
