It’s not right to call Pervez Musharraf a traitor: Shaukat Yousafzai
PESHAWAR: KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai Thursday said it was not right to call former president General (R) Musharraf a traitor.
In a statement, he said the Special Court judgment against Pervez Musharraf had dejected many people adding that the Pakistan Army had rendered uncountable sacrifices in the war against terror.
He said the leaders facing corruption charges were going abroad while the one who fought wars for the defence of the homeland was dubbed a traitor. Observing that the decision will create instability among the state institutions, Yousafzai said the solution to every problem lay in the Constitution.
Expressing grave concern over the Special Court detailed verdict, Yousafzai said Musharraf was denied the fundamental right of self-defence in the case. Earlier on December 17, the Special Court had awarded death sentence to Musharraf in the high-treason case.
