Khursheed Shah granted bail
SUKKUR: The Judge of Accountability Court Sukkur, Ameer Ali Mahesar, Tuesday granted bail to the PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah in assets beyond means case against a surety bond of Rs. 5 million.
During arguments, the NAB prosecutor, Zubair Malik pleaded the court to extend the judicial remand by 15 days. The defence counsels comprising of Senator Raza Rabbani and Mukesh Kumar Chawla, argued that NAB has failed to file any reference against their client even after 90 days of remand. Pleading that Khursheed Shah was politically victimized, they requested for granting bail to their client.
When the judge asked NAB about reference, the prosecutor informed him that the reference of Rs. 1.24 billion was ready against Khursheed Shah and 17 other alleged accused, and it was sent for approval of the chairman NAB. The reference will be submitted after the approval within 15 days, he said.The court later bail to Syed Khursheed Shah on filing surety bonds of Rs. 5 million.
