Musharraf disappointed over Special Court verdict
DUBAI: Former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday expressed disappointment over the Special Court decision of his death sentence in a high treason case, a close associate of his current staff told The News. Musharraf has been living in his penthouse located few meters away from the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa since 2016. Sources said the former military ruler, who is in Dubai and said to be in a critical condition, was disappointed with the special court’s decision. “The former president has been shifted to his residence few days back after getting treatment in the hospital,” one close associate informed on condition of anonymity. According to medical records, Musharraf visits the hospital for regular treatment almost every week. Recently, Musharraf also visited a golf course in Dubai to meet his friends and his picture with his fans went viral. Local leaders of his political party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), also expressed their disappointment at the development. “Musharraf’s health is in a critical state,” an APML leader was quoted as saying. He added that the former president will respond after consulting his lawyers.
