PU Hockey Mela from tomorrow
LAHORE: Punjab University Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department is going to organise 6-a-side Hockey Mela at PU hockey ground New Campus on December 18 and 19, 2019.
According to details, as many as 24 hockey teams - 18 boys and 6 girls - will participate in the 2-day event. Several Olympians and male and female international players will exhibit their game during the Hockey Mela being organised for the promotion of national game of Pakistan. The first exhibition hockey match will be played between members of Pakistan team and University players.
Head coach and manager national hockey team Olympian Kh Junaid and Chief Selector Olympian Manzoor Junior will be guests of honour at the colourful opening ceremony scheduled to be held at 10.30am on December 18 while the closing ceremony will be organized at 3.30pm on Dec 19, 2019. Punjab University Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department is also planning to launch a hockey academy on this occasion.
