LAHORE:Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed has said that negotiations between doctorand lawyers were managed a day before the attack on PIC and both parties apparently had agreed to resolve their dispute.

He was talking to the media outside Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). He said that police stopped the protesters at China Square, however, the lawyers assured that their demonstration would be peaceful. An FIR has been lodged and all relevant footages have been retrieved by police, he said, adding those who were involved in violence were being recognised and many faces had been identified.

The Lahore police chief said that law would adopt its due course and all actions would be taken according to the law. "Police successfully managed to push back the demonstrators twice and used force when they entered PIC third time. No one is above the law, strict action will be taken on breaking the law, vowed the CCPO. Zulfiqar Hameed told the media that additional police force had been deployed at sensitive installations. Police are ready to deal with any law and order situation.
