KARACHI: Fawad Salim and Mohammad Tariq of Raging Bull Boxing Club (RBBC) defeated Tulaib and Sohail Jahangiri of Lyari’s Silawat Boxing Club (SBC) in connection with the Independence Day’s celebrations here on Sunday.
In the bantamweight, Fawad got the better of Tulaib. In the 60 kg, Tariq overcame Sohail.
The RBBC chief executive officer Hashim Rizvi graced the closing ceremony. He said that during the last two years the RBBC had produced quite a few boxers who had been serving the nation in different age-group competitions.
He said that England’s boxing great Amir Khan should establish an academy in Karachi. “Amir is establishing academies in Lahore and Islamabad. It’s great but he should not ignore Karachi which is the hub of boxing,” Hashim said.
