PHC orders quality construction work
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to ensure quality construction work or else the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would be directed to take action against them.
The court was hearing a case about the accumulation of water at the square near the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building, causing road blockade and traffic jam.
The director-general of the Peshawar Development Authority told the court that work on the project would soon complete. Justice Qaisar Rashid directed the authorities to ensure quality work. He observed that in case of any substandard work, NAB will be directed to take action. The judge said the court would not allow the waste of public money. The hearing in the case was adjourned till January 29.
The same bench adjourned hearing till December 19 in another case about the sewerage water and waste in canals. The secretary irrigation told the court during the hearing that the issue has been discussed with the Local Government Department and work would be started after the government released funds.
