LAHORE:Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said the human rights situation was getting worse with every passing day.
Despite that the Constitution guaranteed basic human rights for every individual but ground realities paint an entirely different picture, he said while addressing a meeting in connection with World Human Rights Day on Tuesday.
The PAT leader said families of the victims of Model Town massacre are still looking towards courts for justice which is their basic right. Similarly, innocent people were being subjected to every kind of injustice in everyday life, but no state machinery was there to provide them justice. He said only elite and influential class had been enjoying human rights since the creation of this land. He said provision of education, justice, employment, and health, life and security to every citizen were the basic rights that Constitution ensures for every individual citizen but facts on ground negate these constitutional guarantees.
