KARACHI: Five days have passed but the police have failed to trace the whereabouts and recover the 20-year-old Dua Mangi from the custody of kidnappers.
The Karachi Bar Association and Malir Bar Association on Thursday separately held protests outside the Karachi Press Club and Gulshan-e-Hadeed, demanding Dua Mangi’s recovery. Mangi’s cousin, Keenjhar Sindhu as well as political and social activists also joined the bar associations in the protest.
They demanded the immediate safe recovery of the Dua Mangi. “This is the second major similar incident to have occurred in six months in DHA,” said advocate Javed Sangi who led the protest at the KPC. “If the police had tackled Bisma’s kidnapping case properly this kidnapping would not have happened.”
The protesters also demanded strict action against the suspects who kidnapped Mangi and injured her friend Haris Soomro during the abduction.
