Aqeel, Abid win in PTF Masters’ Invitational Tennis

KARACHI: Aqeel Khan, Abid Ali Akbar, Yasir Khan, and Muhammad Abid won their respective matches on the 2nd day of PTF Masters’ Invitational Tennis event at Pakistan Sport Complex, Islamabad on Friday.
In a well-contested first match, Aqeel Khan beat Asad Ali Siyyid in three straight sets 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 after facing tough resistance from Asad.
Aqeel won the first set at 7-5 by breaking 12th game of Asad and then took the next two sets easily.
In the second match, Abid Ali Akbar completely outplayed Ahmed Chaudhry who had just returned after undergoing training in Austria for three months at Tennis Academy in Vienna. Abid won 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 in the one-sided affair.
In the third match of the day, Muhammad Abid got walkover against Hamza Mehmood (UK) who had stomach problem. In the fourth match of the day, Yasir Khan beat Shahzad Khan. Yasir won the first set 7-5 and when he was leading 3-2 in the second set, Shahzad conceded the match on medical grounds.
On Saturday (today), Aqeel will be up against Yasir, Ahmed will play against Asad, Shahzad is drawn against Hamza and Abid Ali Akbar will be facing Muhammad Abid.
