Minister Afridi’s cousin injured in Kohat firing
KOHAT: A gunman shot at and injured a cousin of Minister of State Sheharyar Khan Afridi here on Tuesday, a police official said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police City Circle, Alamzeb told the members of the media that the accused arrived in an auto-rickshaw and opened fire on Asghar Afridi, cousin of the Minister of State for States and Frontier Regions and Narcotics Control Sheharyar Khan Afridi, who was sitting in his spare-parts shop. He added that Asghar Afridi was injured and the police shifted him to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohat where his condition was stated to be stable. DSP Alamzeb said the police arrested the accused while trying to flee the city. He said the identity of the accused could not be disclosed at the moment. He added that the accused had been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
