Anti-ice drug seminar arranged at Woman University Mardan
MARDAN: The Woman University Mardan arranged an awareness-raising seminar about the harmful effects of “ice” (methamphetamine).
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ghazala Yasmeen, Dr Rashida, Dr Hina, faculty members, teachers and students attended the event. District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Sajjad Khan presented a detailed presentation on the harmful effects of ice drug. He said the young generation and students could secure their future by avoiding drugs, especially ice and other narcotics. The official said the Mardan police were taking action to curb the ice use and had launched an awareness campaign in the district as well. He said the police had organised several walks and seminars at the education institutions to make the students and young generation aware of the harms of the Ice use. The official said the Mardan police had arrested several Ice smugglers during different actions and seized ice during as well. The DPO said that Mardan police topped the list throughout the province in actions against Ice, land grabbing and people involved in private interest business during 2019. The official added that parents and teachers would have to carry out the national duty to ensure that the younger generation future is safe.
