DC Sukkur ordersaction against NGOs not supporting polio drive
SUKKUR: Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Shafiq Ahmed Mahesar on Monday ordered respective deputy commissioners to take severe action against all the non-governmental organisations (NGOs), if they refused to support anti-polio drive. While presiding over a divisional polio task committee meeting, the divisional commissioner expressed his displeasure over the presence of the polio virus and ordered all the stakeholders to devise a comprehensive plan to eliminate the menace from the division. He suggested to make an all out efforts to fight against the virus during the upcoming polio campaign which starts from Dec 16 to 21. Brigadier (retd) Kamal-ud-din, member National Emergency Operation Center Islamabad (NEOC), representatives of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Unicef were especially attended the meeting.
