APWA president vows to support women football
KARACHI: The president of All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) Charmaine Hidayatullah extended a reception to the Karachi’s Marta Women Football Club players and team management here at the association’s headquarters the other day.
Charmaine said that they would provide all possible support to women’s footballers, adding that she would ask the Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to provide ground and conveyance facilities to the women players.
She said that friendly matches and women tournaments will be sponsored. The president and founder of Marta Woman Football Club Rais Khan also presented his club’s shield to the APWA chairperson.
Yasmeen Dastori, Sajida Soomro, Dr Tanveer, President All Karachi Women Football Association Fehmida Zameer and Convener Agha Khan Gymkhana Football Ground Sohail Pervaiz were also present.
