Committee asks Swabi traders to give relief to consumers
SWABI: The officials at a meeting asked the business community to provide maximum relief to the masses.
The meeting of the District Price Review Committee was held with Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood in the chair. The meeting called on the business community to show the spirit of sacrifice and give maximum relief to the public and general consumers. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Swabi Ihtisham-ul-Haq, Assistant Commissioner Chhota Lahor Tabinda Tariq, and District Food Controller Sher Fayyaz Khan and representatives of the business community.
Speaking at the meeting, Shahid Mehmood said the traders in the district have to follow the new price-list or else they would have to face the law. He asked the price magistrates to carry out daily checking to ensure implementation of the newly fixed rates to ensure maximum relief to the public.
The district food controller presented comparative prices of edible items of Swabi, Mardan and Nowshera districts. After a thorough discussion, new prices were fixed by taking into confidence the office-bearers and representative of the business community.
