Public forum arranged in Upper Chitral

CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Upper Chitral Shah Saud on arranged a public forum in Mor Khow tehsil of the district on Friday.

The government officials, including Additional Assistant Commissioner, Muazzam Khan and Mukarram Khan were also present. The deputy commissioner heard the public issues and directed the officials concerned to resolve them. The complainants were satisfied with the event and called for holding such activities in future as well to address the public issues. Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner inaugurated a solar irrigation system at Nekandeh in Nogram village.

31 marble factories sealed

PESHAWAR: The district administration on Friday sealed 31 marble factories and arrested 17 managers for the lack of filtration plants at the facilities.

The officials of the district administration and Environment Department raided the marble factories and arrested 17 managers for not installing filtration plants at their respective factories. The officials sealed 31 factories as these factories discharge polluted water to the canals, which was the main source of irrigation.
