ISLAMABAD: The special court directed former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Thursday to record his statement in high treason case till December 5, and also decided to hear the case on daily basis.
During the proceedings, the special court judge said Musharraf could come back to Pakistan before December 5 to record his statement. He directed the prosecution team to appear with full preparation for the next hearing. “All the pleas will be heard along with the main case,” he remarked. The special court judge said they were only bound to follow the orders of the Supreme Court. It may be mentioned here the special court was scheduled to announce the reserved verdict in the high treason case on Thursday, however, a day earlier the Islamabad High Court barred it from pronouncing the decision.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of a petition filed by former president Musharraf challenging the verdict reserved by the special court. The LHC directed the federal government to submit complete record of the case till December 3.
