FAISALABAD: Speech and poetic contests under the aegis of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad were held in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau.
The theme of the speeches was “Anti corruption and measures to combat it from society”.
In English language speech contest Muhammad Ali Qamar got first, Natasha Murtaza second and Muhammad Abdullah the third position while in Urdu language speech contest Ehtisham got the first, Komal Shakeel second and Ahmad Kamal got the third position.
In Urdu language poems contest, Seemab Arif got first, Anique-ur-Rehman second and Aqib got the third position.
UAF ENTRY TEST: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Wednesday arranged the 4th entry test for the under-graduate programmes for year 2015-16 in which more than 5,500 students appeared.
Test result will be announced on Thursday (today).
Interview for Hafiz-e-Quran will be held on August 24 and the merit list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed on August 26.
The UAF is the only institution which gives admission to students on district quota.
Some 17,000 students appeared in entry tests this year to get admission in undergraduate programmes against 3,000 seats.
The UAF has mapped out new admission policy and no admission will be made for undergraduate programmes without test.
Textile varsity rector nominated for Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Civil)

FAISALABAD: Prof Dr Arshad Ali, eminent research scholar and Rector National Textile University, Faisalabad, has been nominated for the Presidential Award named Sitara-e-Imtiaz (civil).
The award will be conferred on him on Pakistan Day March 23 next year as per announcement of the government of Pakistan.
He is also a recipient of President Award in Information Technology and National University of Science and Technology as a best researcher. He was also awarded Gold Medal by Pakistan Academy for Sciences & Comstech for Information Technology.
The faculty members, staff and students of the NTU have congratulated Dr Arshad on his achievement.
