DUBAI: President International Diplomat Business Club and former ambassador Javed Malik has said that an international business delegation comprising of Arab, Turkish and British businessmen will be visiting Pakistan early next year to explore business and investment opportunities in the energy sector focusing on solar and renewable energy.
He said discussions were currently underway various entities in Pakistan to work out details of the visit to ensure that the business delegation could have meaningful meetings. He hoped that the government entities, both in Islamabad and Punjab, would extend their cooperation to make the visit successful. Commenting on the investment climate in Pakistan, the former ambassador said they were not deterred by the challenges that they sometimes face while attracting foreign businessmen to visit Pakistan as they focus on smart investors who truly understand the potential that Pakistan offers. He said smart investors, particularly those with regional experience with developing countries, were always keen to explore new opportunities.
Javed Malik said the Diplomat Business Club, a global network of businessmen and diplomats, had strong strategic associations with international companies that were seeking opportunities to expand their operations globally, and accordingly "we are also focusing on Pakistan particularly in energy, low-cost housing, waste management, aviation as well as food & agriculture".
He said during the visit the business delegation also expected to meet key people from the government and private sectors and also take part in Investment Opportunities Forum being planned by the Diplomat Business Club in association with local business groups and chambers of commerce in January 2020.
