LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Asif Bawja has revealed that they have after consultations with former Olympians have chalked out a comprehensive development and game revival plan.
In an informal interaction with The News, Bajwa said that he has been trying to bring all the former hockey players on one page for the sake of the game considering it a national cause. Bajwa urged the former players to set aside all the differences and work with the federation for the uplift of hockey. “I have nothing against anybody and only want the former Olympians and internationals of the country to work together to bring back the lost glory.”
He further stated that all should forget the past happenings and gather at one forum. “Hockey is not of any one person or individual or a group; it is a national sport and we all should work together and the former players should play their role in its development,” he added.
He further said that PHF president Brig R Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has drawn full confidence in him for the revival of the game to the level it has enjoyed. “If we all work as a team, the game will sure find its feet. “I ask the former Olympian what service they can provide at what level and the PHF will provide them all the facilities it could they require for the sport,” he concluded.
