Martyred cop laid to rest in DI Khan
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A cop, who was martyred by unidentified gunmen on Saturday night, was laid to rest at Puta village with state honours on Sunday.
Official sources said that Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Ghaffar working at the investigation division was present at his room nearby the building of Daraban Police Station when unidentified gunmen shot him dead. The assailants also took away his official pistol. Soon after the incident, the police reached the scene and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy. The funeral prayer for the cop was offered at the Police Lines. It was attended by the District Police Officer Delawar Khan Bangash and other officials. The body was shifted to Puta village where it was laid to rest with state honours. The police registered the case on the report of the brother of slain cop and started the investigation.
