Even parents of wheelie doers to face cases

FAISALABAD: Traffic police have decided to register cases against even parents of those involved in rash driving, wheelie and hooligans.
Addressing traffic police officials on the completion of paper work to streamline the traffic in Faisalabad, especially on the Independence Day, August 14, Chief Traffic Officer Rana Muhammad Masoom said the traffic police would take action against under-age drivers and their vehicles would be impounded and be given back after paying heavy fines.
The CTO said a special squad of the traffic police has been constituted under supervision of DSP headquarters, Mirza Anjum Kamal, to conduct extensive patrolling on 250cc motorcycles on the ID and take appropriate measures to streamline the traffic.
The CTO said under the grand operation plan special picketing by traffic police will be arranged and those violating the traffic rules or indulging in rash and dangerous driving and one-wheeling will be booked and detained. The CTO appealed the parents not to allow their under-age children to drive motorcycles.
ID to be celebrated with enthusiasm

FAISALABAD: The Independence Day will be celebrated with national enthusiasm and fervor and main function of national flag hoisting would be held at Commissioner Complex.
The officers of divisional and district administration, parliamentarians and people of civil society would participate in this event. According to the programme, siren would be blown at 8.58 am and national flag would be hoisted by the participants after observance of a one minute silence.
The national anthem would be recited collectively on this occasion. The active contingent of police, fire brigade and rescue 1122 staff would present salute and march past.
The schoolchildren would present national songs while speeches on the importance of the ID would be delivered by speakers.
Earlier, the day would dawn with the special prayers in mosques after the morning prayer.
The Quran Khawani would also be held for the departed soul of martyrs of the Pakistan Movement.
Meanwhile, different governmnet departments, education institutions, business community, NGOs and other social and political organizations have also arranged different programmes to mark the ID.
The similar flag hoisting ceremonies and other events would also be held other districts and tehsils of the division. The main public and private buildings would be illuminated tastefully to express the patriotism and love with country. The district administration has announced prizes for the best illumination on the eve of the ID.
A committee has also been constituted by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal to access the positions of the illumination competition.
