FAISALABAD: On the orders of the Punjab Home Department and the IGP, Regional Police Officer Muhammad Ahsan Tufail has directed the Faisalabad CPO and the DPOs of Chiniot, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh to beef up security of Chinese nationals residing and working in their respective areas.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he said; “Threats from terrorists have become imminent after implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Zarb-e-Azb, hence, we should take all possible measures to thwart the threats vigorously.”
He directed that the CPO and DPOs should visit the working areas and residences of the Chinese nationals and hold meetings with them to assure them that police were adopting all possible measures to ensure their protection. They should also be advised to avoid extensive travelling and minimise their travelling, especially in night, he added. The RPO announced establishing police posts near the working areas of the Chinese nationals and their residences. He directed the SHOs to immediately launch search operation around the residences and working areas of the Chinese. He intimated that the QRF would remain alert for 24 hours to cope with any eventuality. He ordered the DPOs to keep a constant liaison with secrete agencies so that immediate action be taken in case of any threat alert.
