BAHAWALPUR: The police of Bahawalnagar and Rahimyar Khan districts along with sensitive agencies personnel on Tuesday conducted a search operation in various seminaries.
The Bahawalnagar police conducted a search operation at Madrassa Jamiatul Aloom Eidgah Road, Madrassa Taleemul Quran Quresh Colony and Jamia Rehmania at Mohallah Gao Shala and interrogated many students and teachers while a thorough search was made in hostels. The Rahimyar Khan police conducted a search operation and arrested PO Hashim Riaz and drug pushers Hasan Abbas and Imtiaz and recovered 2kg charas from them.
ACCUSED INVOLVED IN MURDER ATTEMPT HELD: Police have arrested two accused who were involved in injuring TMA City TMO Zahid Javed on July 13.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, DPO Sarfraz Falki said that a special police team arrested TMO office naib qasid Adnan Qureshi and his accomplice Rasheed Bhatti. The DPO claimed that both the accused persons had confessed to involve in the incident while the police had also recovered a 30-bore pistol from them. The DPO said that accused Adnan Qureshi had a criminal record and had been nominated in two heinous crime cases registered in the Cantt and the Baghdadul Jadeed police stations. The DPO told that the accused allegedly attempted to murder the TMO, adding that the accused had a fear that he would be sacked as the TMO was conducting an inquiry against him on the charge of irregularities during duty.
