ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has directed emergency steps for restoration of electricity to the areas affected due to mob attack on 220KV grid station in Mardan.Asif, while taking strong notice of the attack by mob from Rashakai area of Mardan on 220 KV Grid Station Mardan disrupting power supply to Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Swat, Malakand and other areas, has directed the NTDC and Pesco officials to immediately take steps for restoration of electricity to these areas. The minister strongly condemned the attack on 220 KV grid station which has put in trouble people of a vast area in Khyber PAkhtoonkhwa. He said that gird stations are national installations and their security is constitutional obligation. He said that attackers are from areas where electricity theft is high and Pesco is suffering 99% losses. The Minister also directed the officials in the Ministry to remain in constant touch with NTDC, PESCO and Provincial authorities for quick restoration of electricity.
