This refers to the news report, ‘Justice Jawwad S Khawaja to assume office of CJ on 17th’ (August 3). The first 24 days as the chief justice of Pakistan will also be the last 24 days of the honoured post for Justice Jawwad S Khawaja.
It is suggested that once appointed as the chief justice the tenure should be fixed for two years as is the case with the president, prime minister, COAS and other holders of constitutional posts.
