KARACHI: Pakistan on Monday notched a 3-2 win over Kuwait in their Group G game in connection with 9-12 spots classification phase of the 18th Asian Seniors Men’s Volleyball Championship at Azadi Sports Complex Indoor Hall in Tehran.
After winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-23, Pakistan had to face deep trouble in the next two sets as Kuwait won them 25-21, 25-21 to level the score 2-2. However, in the fifth and decisive set Pakistan brought discipline in their ranks and lift it convincingly 15-10 to seal the fate of the game in their favour.
Pakistan will now meet Kazakhstan on Tuesday (today). In the other match of the group on Monday, Kazakhstan beat Oman 3-1 with the set score being 25-22, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-17.
Pakistan on Sunday failed to make it to the quarter-finals stage after they were routed by South Korea 3-0 in their last Group C do-or-die battle.
Earlier, after losing to Thailand 2-3 Pakistan had crushed Oman 3-0.
