FAISALABAD: The Punjab government has provided financial aid of Rs 5 million to the family of Constable Haseebur Rahman, who was martyred during an encounter with terrorists on July 28.
The cheque of financial aid was presented to the widow of the constable by Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan and IGP Mushtaq Sukhera on behalf of CM Shahbaz Sharif at his residence at Chak 209/RB, Jaranwala Road.
Speaking on the occasion, the law minister and the IGP said that the Police Department and the nation were proud of the constable. They said that the Punjab government would look after the family of the martyred policeman and full salary would be paid to his widow till the age of his retirement. They said that the family would also be provided free medical and education facilities. They announced providing job for one member of the martyred policeman.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that an investigation against the terrorists involved in the encounter was under way and the people would be apprised of its details. Under the vision of CM Shahbaz Sharif, the government was following a comprehensive strategy to fight against terrorism and controlling the crime. He said that the army and law enforcement agencies were taking elaborated measures against terrorism and the nation would see positive and encouraging results in the next six months.
IGP Mushtaq Sukhera saluted the martyred policeman and said that police would continue fight against terrorism and would not rest till the elimination of the last terrorist.
MNA Mian Muhammad Farooq said that a sum of Rs 100 million would be spent for the development of Chak 209/RB in recognition of the sacrifice of Constable Haseeb.
Later, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan and IGP Mushtaq Sukhera visited the DHQ Hospital and inquired after Constables Shoaib and Ghulam Mustafa, who were injured during the encounter with the terrorists. They prayed for their early recovery and said that all medical facilities were being provided to them. MPA Muhammad Nawaz Malik, RPO Ahsan Tufail, CPO Afzal Kausar and others were also present on the occasion.
