PRCS distributes relief packages in Chitral

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, distributed non-food items worth Rs14.3 million among 223 flood affected families of Chitral.
A communiqué said the distribution took place in several affected villages, including Bamburate, Rambur, Orghoch, Doom Shoghore, Reshun and Pacheli. Each family package consisted of a family tent, kitchen set, hygiene kit, a wood burning stove, two water jerry cans, tarpaulin sheets, mosquito nets and eight blankets.
PRCS teams comprising of officials and volunteers were also assessing the flood losses in Mulkhow tehsil and Garam Chashma village in Lotkoh tehsil. Relief items to the affected people living in these areas would also be provided in the coming days.
The PRCS would provide healthcare facility to the affected people in Garam Chashma, Bamburate and Reshun villages after the restoration of road links, the press release added. It said that the members of the Community-Based Organisations (CBO) and trained volunteers of PRCS, present in the far-off Kalash valley, also assisted in rescuing hundreds of stranded people in the affected areas.
