DASKA: Additional Sessions Judge Thursday awarded 25 years jail term to two accused in a murder case.
Nazir and Riaz had killed Ijaz Ahmed in 2003. Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butt awarded 25 years jail term and Rs 500,000 fine to each accused.
MOTORCYCLISTS INJURED: A speeding van injured three motorcyclists in the area of Bombanwala police on Thursday.
Muhammad Naeem and his two friends were going to Gujranwala when they reached near Othian locality a speeding van hit them, leaving all of them injured. The injured were shifted to civil hospital.
SUICIDE BID: A woman Thursday attempted suicide in the area of Motra police.
The woman was upset due to strange ties with her in-laws and on the day of the incident she took poisonous pills. She was shifted to hospital when her condition deteriorated.
VALUABLES SNATCHED: Two dacoits snatched cash and a cellphone from a man in the area of Sadr police.
Sajjad Hussain was going to Daska when two robbers intercepted him and deprived him of cash and a cell phone.
CASE FOR PROTECTING PO: The City police registered a case against a man on charges of extending help to a proclaimed offender (PO).
On a tip-off, police raided a locality to arrest PO Aasher, who was hiding in the house of Saman.
To see police, Saman alerted the PO, who managed to escape.
