MARDAN: Five people, including two women, were killed while a man and a woman seriously injured in separate incidents of firing in the district during the last 48 hours, the police said.
Iftikhar Ali, resident of Safdar Killay, told officials at the Rustam Police Station that his brother Mukhtiar was shot dead allegedly by one Nahid over a family dispute. According to another case registered at Katlang Police Station, Akhtar Dad from Sangahu village said that his sister Bakht Sana was poisoned to death by her husband.
Meanwhile, officials of the City Police Station said they had recovered bodies of one Saima Bibi, 13, and Inamullah from Bagh-i-Iram area. The police shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for autopsy and later handed them over to the bereaved families. However, the police said they did not charge anyone in the first information report (FIR).
According to another case registered at Saro Shah Police Station, one Muntaha Bibi stated that she along with her family members were present at her house when Fayyaz and Ayaz allegedly entered her house and started firing over a minor issue. As a result, her husband Zarin Gul died on the spot while she and her son Saeed Gul sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex where their condition was declared stable. The police registered the case and started investigations.
