Urges parties to support Karachi operation
From Our Correspondent
OKARA: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq has said that all political parties should support Karachi operation launched against terrorism, target killing, extortion and lawlessness.
He said this while talking to media on the funeral prayers of Haroon Saleem, s/o JI late leader Dr Muhammad Saleem and elder brother of anchorperson Junaid Saleem, here on Monday. PML-N MNA Chaudhry Muhammad Arif, PML-N MPA Mian Muhammad Munir, PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal, Okara Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Ch Muhammad Arshad Iqbal, former ambassador Qazi Muhammad Rizwan, TV artist Suhail Ahmad, senior journalist Salman Ghani, former provincial minister Ashraf Khan Sohna, ex-MNA Sajjadul Hassan Chaudhry and the people belonging to all walks of life attended the funeral prayers. JI ameer Sirajul Haq said that the nation should be united against bloodshed and lawlessness in Karachi. Responding to a question, the JI head said that the Judicial Commission findings were merely a report as no one’s inefficiency had been mentioned in the report neither any punitive action had been recommended against those involved in mismanagement. On one side, he added, the JC had acknowledged extremely undisciplined and mismanagement during the 2013 general elections, but nothing had been recommended to overcome these evils in the next elections. He suggested to all the political parties to initiate combined efforts to purge the future elections of all such evils to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. To a question, Sirajul Haq said that differences between PTI Chairman Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak were an internal affair of the PTI. The country’s solidarity and nation’s eternity could be ensured only by enforcing the Islami system, he added.
