Four SHOs issued show-cause notices

FAISALABAD: CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar has issued show-cause notices to four SHOs and an ASI for their poor performance and lethargy in duty.
They are Inspector Muhammad Abid of Batala Colony police station, Nadeem Anjum of Factory Area police station, Imran Manan of Gulberg police station, Jehangir Khan of Sadr police station and ASI Maqbool Ahmad of Civil Lines police station. The CPO directed them to improve their performance otherwise they should be ready to face the music.
Meanwhile, addressing a meeting, the CPO ordered the SHOs to start a crackdown on the proclaimed offenders, drug peddlers and gamblers, besides making extensive police patrolling to curb the criminals. He said that a CIA police team led by SP Farooq Hundal had busted a gang of motorcycle and mobile phone snatchers and arrested its three members, including ringleader Imtiaz Ahmad, Amir and Khalil.
Girl killed, sister injured on road

FAISALABAD: An 18-year-old girl was killed and her sister injured in an accident on Khurrianwala-Sheikhupura Road at Adda Johal on Wednesday.
Aniqa and Umme Habiba, daughters of JUI district ameer Qari Abdullah Qureshi, were crossing the road when a speeding van hit them. As a result, Aniqa died on the spot while Umme Habiba was seriously injured. The injured girl was shifted to a hospital.
