60 foreign players in junior tennis event in Islamabad
KARACHI: As many as 60 foreign junior tennis players have entered to play the J-5 Islamabad (Grade-5) event scheduled from October 7-12 at the PTF Tennis Complex.
According to the acceptance list, 16 foreign players are in the main draw and 17 in the qualifying draw of the boys’ category.
In the girls’ category, 20 players are in the main draw and seven in the qualifying draw. There have been 13 withdrawals from the boys’ category and four from the girls’ category. The withdrawal deadline is 24th of this month. There are 15 Pakistani players in the boys’ event and six in the girls’ event.
Leo BORG from Sweden is the top seed in the boys’ event. A number of Indian players have also entered in both the categories. The boys’ singles events have 32 places for the main draw and as many places for the qualifying, while 16 places are for doubles.
