PESHAWAR: At least nine persons were killed in various incidents in Haripur and Swabi districts on Tuesday.Our correspondent in Haripur adds: At least five persons were killed in separate incidents in the district on Tuesday.
Police said a picnicker, Saqib, drowned while swimming in the Khanpur Dam. Saqib, 20, had come to Khanpur Dam along with his friends for a picnic from Hassanabdal.His body was fished out by the local divers after hectic efforts.Also, two toddlers drowned in a water tank.
Police sources said Aliyan, 3, resident of Shah Maqsood, was playing when his toy fell into a water tank at his courtyard. He slipped and fell into the water while trying to get his toy back from the tank. Mahnoor also slipped and drowned in a bid to save him.
Family members said that after searching for about three hours they found her body in the water tank of their courtyard.
On the other hand, two motorcyclists collided on the Grand Trunk Road in the limits of the City Police Station. The police said that Asad Amin was coming to Haripur from Panian on a motorcycle when a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with it.
He died on the spot.In another incident, Resham Jan 55, was crushed to death by a coach in village Sara-e-Gadai. She was crossing the road. Our correspondent in Swabi adds: Four people, including father and son, were killed in two different incidents here on Tuesday, said police.
Sources in Kalu Khan Police Station said two brothers, Arif Khan and Sanab Khan, had a dispute over a piece of land in Sheikh Jana village. The sources said Sanab Khan shot dead Arif Khan and his son Abdullah as soon as they came out of their home.
The police have registered a first information report (FIR) and started an investigation.The cause of the incident was stated to be a dispute over land between the two brothers.In the second incident, a speeding car, on way from Charsadda to Abbottabad, overturned near the Karnal Sher Khan Interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway and as result two Afghan nationals were killed on the spot and one of their colleagues sustained injuries.
The locals shifted the injured to the Shahmansoor Hospital Complex. The dead Afghan nationals were identified as Mansoor Khan and Jan Alam. Three killed in Chitral accident: Three tourists were killed in a road accident in Ashreet village here on Tuesday, official sources said.
They said that three persons Syed Rahat, Waqar and a woman were killed when their vehicle fell into a deep ravine in Bradam locality in Ashreet village. They were travelling to Chitral from Dir.
