Islamabad: If you plan to take a drive to Murree during Eid holidays, here is an advisory for you for trouble-free travel: use expressway to the hill station and Murree Road on return.
On Eid, the Mall in Murree will remain closed to traffic, both light and heavy, while motorists will be banned from parking vehicles at GPO Chowk, in Jheeka Gali and Cecil Hotel areas, and along Guldana Road.
As there is a threat of landslide due to heavy rainfall, the traffic on Lower Topa, Shwala Road and Upper Dewal Bazaar will be one way.Diversion boards are already in place on Jheeka Gali and Shwala Road and in front of MIT Office with wardens deployed there to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
The advisory has been issued to avoid gridlock seen in Murree and on the way to it from Islamabad on last Eid.Like Punjab traffic police, which will ensure smooth flow of traffic in Murree by deploying scores of cops, the Islamabad traffic police too have planned to check traffic jams on the Murree Road by heavy deployment of their personnel during Eid days.
