MINGORA: Two persons were killed in separate incidents in the Swat district, the police said on Thursday.
One Asad was killed in a road accident in Sher Palam village while an employee of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company was electrocuted when he was repairing the transformer in Saidu Sharif.
Our correspondent in Haripur adds: A woman and her daughter died of electrocution in the limits of Khalabat Police Station. Police quoted Jahangir, husband of the deceased, as saying that his wife was sewing cloth at her home.
“She suffered electric shocks when she touched the machine which had developed a fault. Her infant daughter, who was also sitting in her lap at the time of the incident, was also electrocuted.
Both died on the spot.Police arrest two militants in Kohistan: The police claimed to have arrested two militants in Kohistan district on Thursday.A press release issued here stated that the militants, Maulvi Walidain and Abdul Salam were at their homes in Tangar village when the police raided the area and arrested them.The two were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
