The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) submitted a censure motion in the Sindh Assembly Secretariat on Thursday against Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif for speaking against army generals.
It was submitted by legislators including Syed Sardar Ahmed, Muhammad Hussain, Abdul Haseeb and Waseem Qureshi.
Talking to the media later, Muhammad Hussain said on July 12, Khawaja Asif had spoken against two former generals of the Pakistan Army and his remarks were tantamount to treason. A case against should be filed for treason, under Article 6 of the constitution.
Terming the cases filed against Altaf Hussain to be illegal, he said the issue will be raised in the Sindh Assembly.
The party also submitted a requisition in the assembly secretariat for summoning an emergency session of the assembly. It has signed by MPA Syed Sardar Ahmed at the assembly secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, the party will knock on all doors, including courts, to get justice and all those involved in hatching a conspiracy against the MQM will be exposed, so that people can come to know the truth about the plans afoot to marginalise the party.
