Traders’ sit-in against tax on bank transactions

OKARA: Traders staged a sit-in against the tax on bank transactions.
Anjumane Arthian Grain Market president Habibul Haq, Fertilizers Dealers Association president Sheikh Irshad Ahmad, Markazi Anjumane Tajiran president Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Sadiq, Rice Dealers Association president and market commission agents staged a sit-in in grain market.
In a joint press conference, they also criticized the tax, terming it a negative step for the national economy. They said it would result in increase in Hundi business.
They urged the government to withdraw the tax forthwith otherwise protest of the business community would spread in the country.
