for martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA)

BAHAWALPUR: Security plan for the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) was finalised on Wednesday.
As many as 10 Azadari processions will be taken out and 62 Majalis-e-Aza will be held on Thursday in Bahawalpur division. More than 4,500 security personnel, including volunteers, would perform the security duty on Yaum-e-Ali (RA). Regional Police Officer Ehsan Sadiq visited the routes of sensitive processions to review security arrangements.
In Bahawalpur district, as many as five Azadari processions will be taken out, including one A-category sensitive procession in Uch Sharif and one B-category in Bahawalpur, where 1,280 security personnel have been deployed.
In Rahimyar Khan district, five processions will be taken out and 20 Majalis-e-Aza will be held and more than 1,800 personnel of police and other security agencies will perform security duty. In Bahawal Nagar, seven Majalis-e-Aza will be held and around 800 security personnel have been deployed. Emergency has been declared in all hospitals to deal with any eventuality in the Bahawalpur police range.
Banned outfit’s activist nabbed

BAHAWALPUR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday took an activist of a banned outfit with a hand grenade in custody near a park at Ahmadpur East.
The CTD personnel called the bomb disposal squad which defused the hand grenade. Sources said the CTD personnel had also recovered literature of banned outfits with some other suspected items. Later, the arrested activist was shifted to some unknown place for interrogation. It is learnt the activist has been identified as Bilal Channar of Naushera Jadeed.
