Islamabad: Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj, chairman of Department of Mass Communication has been appointed as the dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
President Mamnoon Hussain has promoted him as the dean on the recommendation of AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, keeping in view his academic profile and experience.
Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj has assumed the charge as the dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities forthwith.
He carries over 29 years of teaching and research experience. He has been visiting scholar at several foreign and national universities.
Dr. Siraj holds masters degree in journalism with distinction, doctorate in mass communication and post-doctorate research at the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (USA). He has authored 40 research papers published in national and international research journals.
