KASUR: A man shot dead his wife over a clash with his in-laws on Thursday at village Jalokay in the limits of Mandi Usmanwala police station.
Sumaira Bibi contracted marriage with Asif some years back. Her father and Asif were contesting cases in courts over some family issues against each other. She exchanged harsh words with him and went to her parents’ house.
On the day on incident, Asif went to his in-laws house and tried to convince Sumaira to come with him. When she flatly refused to go with him, he shot her dead on the spot.
BODY FISHED OUT: Rangers and Rescue 1122 teams in a joint effort of three days Thursday fished out body of a fisherman from the River Sutlej, near village Rajowal Noh Khalid Section.
Fisherman Muhammad Javed, of Kot Salamatpura of Khudian town, had gone to the river for fishing and drowned.
