HAFIZABAD: A landlord was killed by the firing of three unidentified people at Bahram village on Wednesday night. Javed Iqbal was sleeping in his dera when three unidentified people entered and shot him dead. Police have taken the body into custody and started investigation.
BIKER KILLED ON ROAD: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident at Rasoolpur Tarar village. Azmatullah of Bohpa Chadaran was on his way when a speeding truck hit his motorcycle, killing him on the spot. Police are investigating.
PATWARI HELD: The Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested a Patwari on a corruption charge.
The ACE circle officer along with Magistrate Naveed Akhtar raided and arrested Patwari Bashir Ahmad Bhatti while receiving Rs 5,000 bribe from complainant Usman Mehmood.
Earlier, Usman, in an application to the ACE alleged that the patwari had demanded Rs 5,000 bribe from him for transferring a land into his name.
