BAHAWALPUR: A woman with her newborn died during delivery at a private hospital in Bahawalnagar on Monday night.
Najma w/o labourer Abdul Ghaffar of Nizamabad was admitted to the hospital for delivery and the lady doctor asked for an operation. During the operation, Najma and her newborn died.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased staged a demonstration against the lady doctor. The protesters blocked traffic for hours at Bahawali Chowk by burning tyres. They demanded immediate arrest of the lady doctor and other staffers and registration of a double murder case against them. They alleged that the quack lady doctor was running the hospital with the connivance of the Health Department officials.
LOADSHEDDING: People have been facing several problems due to unscheduled loadshedding of electricity in the city and adjoining areas.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the people said that the loadshedding had made their lives miserable. They criticised the Wapda for its failure to end the unscheduled loadshedding during the month of Ramazan. They said that water supply also remained suspended during the power loadshedding. The traders and shopkeepers said that the loadshedding was affecting their business. The people have demanded the government take steps to end the loadshedding from the country.
