Two public prosecutors among four
booked for preparing fake FIR

OKARA: On the report of the Depalpur additional sessions judge’s record keeper, police booked a lawyer, a district public prosecutor, an assistant district public prosecutor and a woman drug pusher.
Some three months ago, Haveli Lakha police arrested Mumtaz Bibi alias Taji with 2.75 charas. The bail applications of the drug pusher were rejected by a lower court and the Lahore High Court. Few days ago, the Depalpur ASJ granted bail to the drug pusher. Later, the court and police came to know that the woman drug pusher was granted bail through a fake FIR allegedly prepared by lawyer Rana Qasim of Depalpur.
On knowing the facts, ASJ Tariq Javed sent a letter to the DPO regarding the preparation of the fake FIR. Depalpur City registered a case against lawyer Rana Qasim, DPP Ashraf Bhatti, ADPP Zubair Khalid and drug pusher Mumtaz Bibi alias Taji. Police have arrested Rana Qasim while the other accused are still at large. Meanwhile, the Depalpur tehsil bar association went on strike against the arrest of their colleague.
